‘Far From Home’ Adds Indian Thespian Naseeruddin Shah as Executive Producer

“Far From Home” added respected Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah as Executive Producer. Winning a National Film Award for his performances and Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the 1984 Venice Film Festival, Shah has commented about the fim: “I’ve always believed the most important function of cinema is to act as a record of its times—Since it is the only medium that can do that I consider documentaries to be of more value for posterity than features.”

The short documentary chronicles the plight of Afghan refugees in India through the story of Samira Faizi, who fled to the country in 2021 following the Taliban‘s takeover of Afghanistan.
